Anant Jamloki
[edit]- @1233 I only want to keep my old articles safe in which I have written true information and these articles have been written by me myself. Now I am not able to understand why efforts are being made to remove them after 3 years. Thank you. Anant Jamloki (talk) 10:32, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
- Anant Jamloki, your user page is for you to write about your activities on Wikipedia, so anything else will be deleted. Your article had no in-line independent verifiable sources, no wikilinks, and the text is highly promotional, culminating in enhancing its beauty even more. Further uphill lies a picturesque lake called Nagtal, whose beauty is beyond description. If you post an article, it will be assessed as it stands. If you don't want that to happen, you should write it as a draft. I don't understand efforts are being made to remove them after 3 years. Your account is only a year old and your user page and article were both started in 2025 Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:16, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
- I only wrote what is true and my account is 3 years old, that is a different matter, I might have used it for English later. Anant Jamloki (talk) 13:24, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
- Anant Jamloki, whether it is true is irrelevant, we must be able to verify with in-line independent verifiable sources, and some of it was your opinions rather than verifiable facts Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:39, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
- If I do references then will the page remain in good condition? Anant Jamloki (talk) 13:44, 14 April 2025 (UTC)

Aygun Badalova
[edit]Hi, I’m new and I’ve created a draft for Aygun Badalova (I’ve disclosed a conflict of interest on my user page). I’d really appreciate any feedback on how to improve it or help it meet Wikipedia’s notability guidelines. Thanks so much! Draygun (talk) 12:34, 14 April 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Jimfbleak, I saw that you previously deleted the draft of the OpenUp article under G11 for promotional content. I’m currently working on a new version and I want to make sure it follows Wikipedia’s guidelines for neutrality, sourcing, and notability. Could you kindly advise me on what specific improvements or changes are needed to make this page acceptable for publication? I really want to get it right and would appreciate your guidance. Thanks in advance!

Deletion of Draft:Louis Armstrong Middle School
[edit]I have seen that you reviewed my draft of the Louis Armstrong Middle School. The purpose of this article was to inform readers about the school. In no way was I attempting to advertise the school. Example are with several high schools with wikipedia articles, that have the same sort of content. Schoolwikiwriter69 (talk) 16:03, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
- Schoolwikiwriter69 no in-line references to independent third-party sources, no wikilinks, plenty of fact-free promotional claims The school's mission is to bring together a culturally diverse group of students to help them grow academically, emotionally, socially, and physically... to promote racial integration and diversity in education. The school embodies the philosophy that children learn best when they have classmates from different ethnic groups, neighborhoods, and academic abilities. The student body reflects the diversity of Queens,... a robust curriculum... It is known for its accelerated and honors programs... The school has received recognition for its music education program and looks as if it's written by a LLM Jimfbleak - talk to me? 18:34, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
- it is factual though, their entire goal is related to diversity, respect, and they have an accelerated regents program. additionally, the school includes a really good music program. this is factual, i have included references. Schoolwikiwriter69 (talk) 21:37, 14 April 2025 (UTC)

Schoolwikiwriter69, I've reverted your disruptive edits to Nedu Wazobia, which added unreferenced text and random bolding, and removed existing refs. Also read the following regarding writing an article about a school.
- you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the school, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, logs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the school claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
- The notability guidelines for organisations and companies have been updated. The primary criteria has five components that must be evaluated separately and independently to determine if it is met:
- significant coverage in
- independent,
- multiple,
- reliable,
- secondary sources.
- Note that an individual source must meet all four criteria to be counted towards notability. Your text didn't give any info about the number of employees, students, management structure, funding or expenditure.
- You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews. Your text was basically a prospectus for the school with " this is what we offer" and aims and aspirations instead of real facts.
- There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
- You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient. I didn't check.
- You had no wikilinks.
- If you really think your unreferenced draft was neutral factual writing, that's a problem. Take your time if you try again, we need neutral factual text with independent third-party sources, and anything close to the last effort may get you blocked Jimfbleak - talk to me? 08:08, 15 April 2025 (UTC)
- ahh, i understand now, thank you Schoolwikiwriter69 (talk) 16:27, 15 April 2025 (UTC)
Template:Hum TV programs
[edit]Thank you for the deletion of Template:Hum TV programs as the template was an old one and seems promotional to promote the subject. I want to say that remove the text "Template:Hum TV programs", where this template was used on the pages as this template has been deleted. Thank you Mlkfrz4455 (talk) 08:10, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
Requested moves
[edit]Hi Jim, I've been updating wiki articles following the release of version 15.1 of the IOC list in February. Please would you move the following articles. I don't think any of these moves are contentious.
- (Change English name of Nystalus maculatus from Caatinga Puffbird to Spot-backed Puffbird with the lump of Chaco Puffbird N. striatipectus. Aligns with Clements/eBird, BirdLife/IUCN)
- (Aligns with Clements/eBird)
- (Align with other lists)
- (aligns with Clements/eBird, BirdLife/IUCN, SACC 662)
- (New species split from the forest robin complex)
I'll come behind you and tidy. Many thanks. -Aa77zz (talk) 13:19, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
- Aa77zz, all done Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:24, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
Featured article
[edit]There are a couple of your FAs that have been affected by splits.
This article was promoted to FA status (as the Rock martin) in 2010. Your original article included 13 subspecies. In around 2012 the northern African subspecies were split off as the pale crag martin and you updated the article. In the recent IOC 15.1 update the tropical African subspecies were split off as the red-throated rock martin, leaving just three subspecies from southern Africa. With the latest split, the IOC renamed the "rock martin" as the "large rock martin". Frustratingly, Clements/eBird chose a different name: the "southern crag-martin".
I've created a stub article for the red-throated rock martin, updated the Ptyonoprogne genus article and moved the "rock martin" article to the "large rock martin". I've created a new range map for the large rock martin and made some edits to the article, but it needs more work. (it still cites sources such as BWP and Baker 1926 - not ideal for a south African species - but the facts are unlikely to change)
For this FA you collaborated with Sabine's Sunbird. The article was promoted in 2008. Some years ago the cattle egret was split into the western cattle egret and the eastern cattle egret. Clements/eBird have also split the species - but BirdLife/IUCN haven't (yet) (nor have they changed the genus to Ardea based on (Hruska et al. 2023)). The western and eastern cattle egret articles were created by copying the cattle egret article in 2017 (by deceased editor Pvmoutside). For some reason, the references for the eastern cattle egret have not been copied across - although the text is often identical. So we now have three articles - all with similar text - based on your FA. Ideally the "Cattle egret" article should be moved to "western cattle egret" (to preserve the history) and then updated along the lines of the present "western cattle egret". An easier solution would be to replace the "Cattle egret" article with a redirect to the "Western cattle egret" - or a dab page. How would you like to handle this? I don't think it is sensible to continue to maintain the "Cattle egret" article. -Aa77zz (talk) 13:22, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for your work on these. I think I'll move cattle egret to western cattle egret and create a dab page, and then I'll try to update as and when. I've just come back from Valencia; we went in November after the floods, but couldn't get out of the city, took the bus to the Albufera this time, flamingos, marbled duck and booted eagle inter alia. - Aa77zz, forgot to ping Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:34, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
I'm adding references back to the eastern cattle egret article. I notice that the size of the eggs in the cattle egret article is given as 45 mm × 53 mm. This should probably be 45 x 33 mm. I don't have the cited source - but I have BWP and HAZAB (available online from NZ birds).
I've doubtful about many of the recent splits - and find it hard to believe that the eastern and western cattle egrets are separate species. -Aa77zz (talk) 19:43, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
- Aa77zz Cornell gives ranges for western, and I agree, I've seen both, but can't bring myself to count as two species Jimfbleak - talk to me? 08:01, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
Template:Hum TV Programs
[edit]It looks like you deleted Template:Hum TV Programs. It looks like it was created around December 2011, so I am wondering why it became a speedy deletion target after 13-14 years? It is still used on about 235 pages, so what is the plan to fix those pages? Could you undelete it and send it to WP:TFD instead? Frietjes (talk) 15:32, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
